The best keepsakes your parents or grandparents can leave you are their memories, their wisdom, and their life stories. Every video memoir we produce gets a reaction very much like this: “Wow, I never heard about that before. Way to go, Gramps!”
“I can’t say enough about the level of professionalism and creativity.”
“She told stories that we had never even heard before”
We view each video memoir as a love letter written to future generations. It’s designed to share the wisdom of a life well lived. To inspire by sharing stories of obstacles overcome along the way. And to bring a tear or two to the eye in appreciation of all the courage and strength you have inherited from those who came before you.
In order to bring this into being, we spend 3-4 hours in your parents’ or grandparents’ home interviewing them on camera. We call it an interview, but it winds up being a casual conversation that very early on makes it feel as if there are no cameras or lights, just a few old friends talking about old times.
Our goal in interviewing your loved one is not only to capture the facts of their biography but to bring those facts to life – and to enrich them with secrets they may never have revealed before. Like the deeply religious woman who reluctantly told us that she stole a candy bar when she was seven and had to confess the crime to her stern grandmother.
Or the woman, majoring in piano at college, who told a very young Jerry Bock, “Stick to your day job.” (A few years later, Jerry composed the music to Fiddler on the Roof.) The magic happens when we take the 3-4 hours of interviewing and edit them into a 40-45 minute video.
Our Gold and Platinum Packages bring the interview to life with the addition of photos, music, and carefully crafted segues. The end result is a video so entertaining friends and family will be riveted to their seats.
So many years, so many views on life, that’s the beauty of getting answers to difficult questions.
The next time you do something crazy, take solace that you’re not alone.
It’s the most difficult thing to talk about, but the most important.
